The Tacoma Preservation Society’s (TPS) development application for its proposed marina berth has achieved another milestone in its endeavours to gain access to the Fisherman’s Memorial site in the Marina.
Following a very productive face-to-face meeting with a number of personnel from the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure (DPTI) in Adelaide, the TPS has agreed to amend its present Development Application, to gain approval from the Department.
The amendment will move the current boundary of the western extremity of the project ten metres to the east. This amendment will comply with Australian Standards and allow for the safe use of the access ramp for emergence vessels.
The amended TPS Development Application will also ensure not only safe public access; it will also provide appropriate vessel navigation and maintenance activities associated with the marine infrastructure, including the existing revetment walls.
